Die Größe des positiven Resektionsrands nach einer Prostatektomie aufgrund eines Prostatakarzinoms hat demnach einen prognostischen Wert im Hinblick auf ein biochemisches Rezidiv, also einen PSA-Wert-Anstieg (auch sog. PSA-Rezidiv). Das erklärte der Hauptautor der Studie Dr. Athul John, Urologe am Flinders Medical Centre in Adelaide, Südaustralien. Die Ergebnisse präsentierte er am 1. Juli auf dem diesjährigen Jahreskongress der European Association of Urology (EAU) 1.
